Amira Salama is an academic English instructor and ESL educator in Egypt. She has a master’s degree in TESOL with a research focus on teacher leadership from the American University in Cairo. Amira is a teacher trainer and a past president of NileTESOL, the TESOL affiliate in Egypt. She was awarded the TESOL Leadership Mentoring Award in 2020. She is currently a member of the TESOL Research Council and the Vice President of Africa TESOL.

In the interview we discuss the way Egyptian universities dealt with the initial crisis. How that has impacted the assessment system with a move towards project-based assessment across the education system and the complexities involved in this.
