LEARNING COMMUNITY

Globe Communities of Practice

Globe PLC Mentors are all ELT professionals with significant experience, skills and knowledge within a particular community of Practice. They are here to help you explore your chosen PLC and to advise you on the best ways to go about developing individual professional knowledge in this field. They will be able to help members by:

● Leading discussions

● Developing individual ideas

● Helping to develop and refine initiative proposals

● Supporting initiative leaders throughout the lifetime of the initiative

● Setting up new initiative groups in specific Communities of Practice

● Helping to access the resources available

If you have a specific idea for a project that you would like to develop in the ELT Incubator, commercial or otherwise, the mentors will also be able to help. They have skills, knowledge and experience in developing useful products for teachers and learners within a range of different contexts. They will have worked in the product development, publishing, testing and assessment, or private language school sectors for a significant period of time, either for profit or not for profit.

Mentors will help to lead members as they develop their own commercial products, perhaps for the first time. They will be able to configure projects in different modes using different media: video, audio, text, digital, and be able to advise on the best ways to go about developing individual ideas for maximum market advantage. This may involve advising product initiators to license their product idea to a publisher, independently publish, or have TransformELT promote their product with them.

If you have any questions about joining Globe, or would be interested in being a mentor for your own PLC, please get in touch smount@transformelt.com

We look forward to seeing you all in Globe very soon!
